The work would provide a brief introduction to the field and its history, economic rationale and development, best practices, and an emphasis on the development of methods to not only identify and measure regional and national capabilities in general, but also align these capabilities with targeted areas of growth, such as green innovations, digital technologies, and specialized product sectors, with the aim to inform directionality in the growth process for specific analyses and policy objectives.
